Anthropic has added a gallery of ready-made legal tools to Claude for Legal. Each tool starts with a worked example that users can adapt to their own documents.
The citation checker compares a legal brief against its sources and flags misquotes or sources that do not support the claims. Courts have been penalising lawyers for fake AI-generated citations since 2023.
- Tabular review extracts terms such as non-compete clauses from multiple contracts into a table, with links to the exact wording.
- Harvey, a legal AI company, built an intake desk inside Claude to handle routine requests and direct more complex matters to lawyers.
- Nine tools focus on access to justice, including a rent-ledger checker for Washington, D.C., eviction cases and a plain-language reader for immigration paperwork.
- Nonprofits built five of these tools using Anthropic’s Claude credits.
The tools are available through Claude Enterprise. Claude handles the initial review, but a lawyer remains responsible for the final decision.
